Arrival & Evening Ganga Aarti
Arrive in Varanasi by afternoon. Check into your accommodation near Godowlia. At dusk (5:30 PM), proceed to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the grand Ganga Aarti — a synchronized ritual of fire, incense, and chanting by young priests. Feel the drumbeats resonate as hundreds of lamps float on the river. Cultural tip: Wear modest clothing; photography is allowed but maintain respectful silence during the mantras.

Ganga snan, Kashi Vishwanath & Sarnath
Rise at 4:00 AM for a sacred dip in the Ganges at Assi Ghat as the city awakens to temple bells. After breakfast, proceed to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for darshan of the Swayambhu Jyotirlinga. Enter through the security checkpoint, leave shoes outside, and observe the ancient rituals of Abhishekam as priests offer bilva leaves, water, and milk to the lingam. Dress conservatively; avoid leather items. In the afternoon, visit nearby Sarnath, where the Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment, and explore the Dhamekh Stupa and the Ashokan Lion Capital at the museum. Depart by evening with prasad of sacred Ganga water and a rudraksha mala.
